On the morning of July 22, 2024, Aidedo hosted a workshop titled “CONNECTING VIETNAM-FRANCE CULTURE.” The purpose of this workshop was for Aidedo and two French interns, Luc Boutgny and Yannis Maissin, to gain a deeper understanding of each other’s cultures.
At the beginning of the workshop, the two interns, Luc & Yannis, shared about France, its culture, and CÉSI, the school in France that specializes in training engineers. They spoke about the classical beauty of France, historical landmarks, and even small details from daily life, such as how the French enjoy their meals, their work habits, and the differences in lunch breaks. They humorously shared, “This is the first time we’ve experienced a midday nap, because in France, we don’t take naps. But it’s really useful, and we’ve come to enjoy it.”
Next, company leadership representative Henry Tran gave a brief overview of Aidedo’s 5-year journey. He shared memorable experiences, from early challenges to the vision for future growth. The teams from the Civil department then followed up with stories about their work, efforts, and strong team spirit.
When it came time for the Civil teams, each person took the stage to share the projects they had been involved in. Each had their own way of telling their stories, but they all shared one common theme: teamwork. They spoke of sleepless nights spent ensuring projects were completed on time, and facing challenges but never giving up.
Particularly noteworthy was Kelly Vo’s presentation on new software that has not yet been implemented in Vietnam. This was likely the most engaging topic of the day, sparking interest among Aidedo’s engineers by opening up new perspectives and insights.
Drafting Manager, Kelly Vo shares about new software that is not widely used in Vietnam.
The biggest surprise came from Robert Nguyen, a member of the Drafting team, who spoke about the importance of sleep. He shared, “As an engineer, I understand the frequent need to stay up late, especially during rush project phases. We want to sleep to recharge, but there’s often no time.” For this reason, he aimed to use the workshop to share tips on how to sleep properly, even with little time, to maintain health. The room fell silent, then burst into laughter when Robert Nguyen gave real-life examples.
CEO Tong Van Dong shared about Aidedo’s company culture. Finally, CEO Tong Van Dong spoke about Aidedo’s culture. He emphasized the five core values that the company upholds: Quality, Speed of Turnaround Time, Fairness, Discipline, and Love. His words were not just theoretical but reflected values that each person in the company experiences in their daily work.
When the clock struck 12, the workshop came to an end. Everyone left with much to reflect on. That morning was not only an opportunity for us to learn about French culture but also a chance to reflect on ourselves, our work, and the values that Aidedo has brought into our lives. Today’s stories, though small, helped us understand each other better, brought us closer, and will undoubtedly serve as valuable lessons for the journey ahead.
The workshop ended successfully with full participation of AIidedo members.
