AIDEDO MEETS UNIVERSITY OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS: AIDEDO’S STRATEGY FOR SUSTAINABLE GROWTH

aidedo utc2

Recently, Aidedo had the opportunity to visit and share at the University of Transport and Communications (UTC2) – one of Vietnam’s leading technical universities. This visit is part of Aidedo’s long-term strategy to develop the next generation of engineering professionals, ensuring stability in workforce capacity, fast turnaround, and consistently high service quality for our international clients.

The University of Transport and Communications (UTC) is one of Vietnam’s leading and long-established technical universities, specializing in transportation, construction, and infrastructure. With campuses in both the North and South, UTC has trained tens of thousands of engineers who have made significant contributions to the country’s infrastructure development.
Currently, the Faculty of Civil Engineering comprises five specialized departments: Road and Railway Engineering, Bridge, Tunnel, and Metro Engineering, Civil and Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Foundation Engineering, with a total of 55 lecturers, including 2 Associate Professors, 20 PhDs, 34 Masters, and 1 Architect.

In a professional and open atmosphere, Aidedo representatives had the opportunity to meet and work directly with the Faculty’s leadership and senior lecturers:

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phuc Le Van – Vice Dean, Secretary of the Party Committee, in charge of Scientific Research and External Communications
  • Dr. Lieu Tran Thi Truc – Vice Dean, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Head of the Department of Civil and Industrial Construction Engineering, responsible for Training and Student Management
  • Dr. Long Ho Viet – Deputy Head of the Department of Bridge, Tunnel, and Metro Engineering
  • Dr. Tung Nguyen Xuan – Lecturer at the Department of Bridge, Tunnel, and Metro Engineering
  • MSc. Bay Pham Ngoc – Lecturer at the Department of Bridge, Tunnel, and Metro Engineering

We sincerely appreciate the warm reception and open sharing from the Faculty members, which has laid a strong foundation for sustainable future collaboration.

The meeting opened up many practical development directions between Aidedo and the Faculty, specifically:

  • Organizing specialized internship programs for students, with direct mentorship and access to real-world project data and workflows from projects in the USA, Australia, the UK, and other international markets.
  • Expanding full-time employment opportunities for students after graduation, with priority given to those who complete internships at Aidedo.
  • Arranging office tours: offering students the opportunity to visit and experience the actual working environment at Aidedo.
  • Supporting student scientific research: connecting students to real-world research topics and project case studies from Aidedo’s international operations.
  • Participating in major Faculty and University events such as Career Fairs, Scientific Conferences, and Scholarship Sponsorship Programs for outstanding students.

For Aidedo, investing in and accompanying students from the early stages is not merely a recruitment activity, but a key strategic approach to ensuring a stable, professional, and globally competitive engineering workforce capable of meeting the highest international standards.

We sincerely thank the leadership team of the Faculty of Civil Engineering for their warm welcome, and more importantly, for being a strategic partner alongside Aidedo in building and developing the next generation of engineers – those who will go on to shape landmark projects around the world.

Continuing the program, Mr. Aiden Tong – CEO & Founder of Aidedo – had an open and heartfelt session with the students, sharing insights into the opportunities, challenges, and real-world value of the civil engineering profession in today’s context.

Aiden emphasized:

We are studying a profession that, although often unrecognized by the public, holds immense and lasting value. Every road, bridge, and building carries the sweat and dedication of engineers.
While society may not always loudly celebrate our work, the value we create is enduring and meaningful for the community.

In particular, Aiden pointed out that today’s engineering students are standing at a “golden era”:

  • Vietnam is experiencing a booming phase of construction and digital transformation, driving an unprecedented demand for highly skilled engineers.
  • Developed countries such as the USA, Australia, the UK, and Canada are facing a severe shortage of technical talent, especially engineers with strong expertise and the ability to integrate into international working environments.
  • While technology (AI, automation) is rapidly changing the world, the role of human engineers – those with critical thinking and technical judgment – remains central to projects that require precision, responsibility, and accountability.

Opportunities are abundant, but they are only for those who have the courage, skills, and mindset to break through.

Mr. Aiden Tong – CEO & Founder of Aidedo – had an open and heartfelt session with the students, sharing insights into the opportunities, challenges, and real-world value of the civil engineering profession in today’s context.

During the open dialogue session, Mr. Aiden Tong candidly shared and empathized with the common worries faced by final-year students as they prepare to enter the professional world:

  • Fear of lacking real-world skills: Studying a lot of theory but having little to no hands-on experience with real projects or applying technical software in actual work environments.
  • Unclear career direction: Feeling unsure about what to do after graduation, where to work, and whether it is necessary to move to major cities like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to build a career.
  • Struggling with how to start: How to write a professional CV, how to handle job interviews, whether to pursue design or construction roles.
  • Pressure from family expectations: The strong hope from parents that after graduation, their children will secure a stable job with good income to support the family.
  • Fear of failure: The inner doubts like “What if I’m not good enough?” or “What if I fail and disappoint others?”

Aiden emphasized that these worries are completely natural — and that everyone goes through them at some point.
The most important thing to remember is:

You are not alone.
You can absolutely turn your worries into the driving force for your breakthrough.

He also deeply inspired the students by highlighting five real aspirations that every engineering graduate should strive for:

  • Securing a job aligned with the major they have pursued.
  • Having an excellent mentor to guide and support professional skill development.
  • Achieving a good income early, building financial independence.
  • Being able to support and give back to their family.
  • Having a clear career path, with a visible future ahead.

The future does not belong to those who wait.
The future belongs to those who dare to start, dare to move forward, and never stop progressing.

One of the most emotional highlights of the program was the sharing session by two outstanding alumni from the University of Transport and Communications Branch – Henry Tran (Civil Director) and Kelly Vo (Drafting Director) – both now holding key leadership positions at Aidedo.

They sincerely shared their personal journeys:

Starting out as young students, filled with common questions like “What will I do after graduation?” or “Am I really suited for this career?”, they persevered, honed their skills, seized opportunities, and gradually rose to lead dozens of international projects each month at Aidedo.

They recounted:

  • Their early days as interns, feeling overwhelmed by the high technical standards required
  • Facing tight deadlines and high expectations from international clients
  • Their first professional breakthroughs, thanks to the dedicated mentorship and strong team support
  • The immense pride of seeing their drawings and models realized in actual built projects

Through their stories, Henry Tran and Kelly Vo conveyed a powerful message to the students:

Success is not reserved for the lucky.
Success is the reward for those who persevere, who dare to start, and who dare to follow through.

Their sharing not only ignited confidence and belief among the students but also clearly reflected Aidedo’s human resource philosophy:
Building a strong team from within — mastering expertise, strengthening spirit, and confidently conquering global standards.
